National Symposium on Statodynamic Progressivism Theory Kicks Off This Saturday

Kathmandu: A one-day national symposium on the relevance of statodynamic progressivism in contemporary Nepal is set to kick off on October 26th (Kartik 10, this Saturday).

The symposium is being organized at the Kathmandu University premises in Hattiban, Lalitpur, with the objective of advancing research and intellectual discourse on the relevance of the statodynamic progressivism theory, according to a press release issued by the organizing institution, Sahridarta Samaj Nepal.

A total of 24 individuals, including Ph.D. researchers from various universities, will present research papers at the symposium.

The symposium will be inaugurated by renowned educator Prof. Dr. Vidyanath Koirala, while the keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Ajay Risal, a professor at Kathmandu University, senior psychiatrist, cultural thinker, and author, according to the press release. The title of the keynote speech is "Srimad Bhagavad Gita ko  Aalokma  Sthitigatyatmakata (Statodynamics in the Light of the Bhagavad Gita)"

In the opening session of the program, alongside Prof. Dr. Koirala and Prof. Dr. Risal, economist Prof. Dr. Chandramani Adhikari, Vice Chancellor of the Far-Western Academy of Literature and renowned author Dr. T.N. Joshi, chairman of the Nepal Sanskrit University Professors' Association Prof. Dr. Mukunda Prasad Lamichhane, and the president of Divine Path International, yoga master and sociologist Yogini Saritanandi, will also deliver remarks.

In the closing session of the symposium, notable cultural expert Prof. Dr. Bina Paudyal, Prof. Dr. Lakshman Prasad Gautam of Tribhuvan University and renowned critic, Prof. Dr. Madhav Prasad Pandey, a professor at Nepal Sanskrit University and chairman of the World Sanskrit Day Working Committee, and associate professor at Far-Western University and campaigner for the Gita for Life initiative, Dr. Harichandra Kamali, will deliver speeches.

The symposium will feature two sessions of panel discussions (intellectual discourse). In these, professors, researchers, and professionals from various universities will discuss different dimensions of statodynamic progressivism.

Between April 27, 2019, and February 17, 2020, Dr. Nirmala Mani Adhikary, head of the Department of Language and Mass Communication at Kathmandu University and founder of the Jarokilo mega campaign, delivered a series of nine lectures explaining the theory of "Statodynamic Progressivism." In these lectures, Dr. Adhikary presented a theory of social development rooted in Vedic philosophy, exploring socio-cultural and economic-political perspectives. Numerous books, research papers, and articles on this subject have since been published in various languages.

Many researchers in Nepal and abroad are conducting research centered on the theory of statodynamic progressivism. The symposium is expected to make a significant contribution to sharing the results of completed research and promoting new research using this theory, said Tekraj Koirala, Ph.D. researcher at South Asian University and the coordinator of the symposium.
