National Symposium on Statodynamic Progressivism Concludes, 23 Papers Presented

Kathmandu: A national symposium on the "Relevance of Statodynamic Progressivism in Contemporary Nepal" was held grandly on Saturday (October 26) at the Kathmandu University (KU) campus in Hattiban, Lalitpur.

The symposium was inaugurated by prominent educationist Prof. Dr. Vidyanath Koirala, and included a keynote speech by KU professor, renowned psychiatrist, cultural thinker, and writer Prof. Dr. Ajay Risal, who spoke on "Srimad Bhagavad Gita ko  Aalokma  Sthitigatyatmakata (Statodynamics in the Light of the Bhagavad Gita)."

During the opening session, remarks were delivered by Prof. Dr. Koirala, Prof. Dr. Risal, economist Prof. Dr. Chandramani Adhikari, Vice-Chancellor of Far-Western Literary Academy and noted literary figure Dr. T.N. Joshi, chairman of the Nepal Sanskrit University Professors’ Association Prof. Dr. Mukunda Prasad Lamichhane, and president of Divine Path International, yoga instructor, and sociologist Yogini Saritanandi.

At the closing session, notable cultural scholar Prof. Dr. Bina Paudyal, Tribhuvan University professor and critic Prof. Dr. Laxman Prasad Gautam, Far-Western University assistant professor and campaigner for the "Gita for Life" initiative Dr. Harish Chandra Kamali, Prof. Dr. Narayan Prasad Gadtaula, and Sahridayata Samaj Nepal president Sushil Gautam also shared their views.

The symposium included two panel discussion sessions where professors, researchers, and professionals from various universities explored different aspects of statodynamic progressivism. In three parallel sessions, 23 researchers presented their papers.

Sahridayata Samaj Nepal stated that the symposium was organized to advance research and theoretical discourse on statodynamic progressivism.

Dr. Nirmal Mani Adhikari, head of the Department of Languages and Mass Communication at KU, initiator of the Jaro Kilo campaign, and theorist, had explained the principles of "statodynamic progressivism" through nine lecture series in 2019 (2076 BS). Dr. Adhikari presented this theory of societal development based on Vedic philosophy, focusing on socio-cultural and economic-political perspectives. Publications in various languages, including books, research papers, and articles, have already been produced on this topic, and Sahridayata Samaj president Gautam announced that an international symposium focusing on the 11 principles and concepts introduced by Dr. Adhikari would be organized soon.
